Welcome to Sukkar! My name is Asma, and I’m thrilled to share my sweet journey with you!

I'm married to my wonderful husband, Mohammed, and we are blessed with four incredible children—two amazing sons and two beautiful daughters. Back in 2014, when my love for art and baking collided, I embarked on an adventure that has filled my home with joy, creativity, and the smell of freshly baked cookies. I started with just a few cookie cutters, some icing, and a whole lot of passion, naming my little business sugar1cookies.

At the time, we had three little ones running around, and decorating cookies became my outlet, my escape, my creative haven. I found myself completely hooked on the process, spending late nights crafting edible works of art. It wasn’t long before word spread, and I began selling my creations on Facebook and Kijiji. I am so grateful for the incredible customers who fell in love with my sweets—they kept coming back, and some of them are still with me today, ten years later!

As my skills grew, so did my offerings. I branched out into wedding cakes, stuffed dates, ma'mool (a beloved Middle Eastern treat), and many other delightful sweets. Each order became a new canvas, a chance to bring joy to someone’s special occasion.

In late 2023, I took a big step forward and rebranded my business as Sukkar, the Arabic word for 'sugar'. This name reflects the heart and soul of my creations and the cultural roots that inspire them. Launching this website is a dream come true for me—it's a way to reach more people, share my love of sweets with the world, and make it easier for you to enjoy my creations, no matter where you are.

But the dream doesn’t stop here. My next goal is to open a café, a place where I can connect with you all in person, get creative in new ways, and build something truly special. I’m so excited for what the future holds and incredibly grateful for the support that has brought me this far.
